Meet the team
HARSHINI SOMISETTY
Harshini Somisetty is a fourth-year student from Columbus, Ohio, majoring in Medical Anthropology and Business Management minoring in Chemistry on the pre-medical track. She adores cats and hopes to have three in the future. Serving her fourth year on the team, she is this year’s third-year Co-Music Director and sings Soprano 1. Outside of rehearsal, Harshini works as a Peer Educator for the Flora Stone Mather Center, does research at the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center, or watches too much New Girl. However, she’s usually singing constantly—whether that’s at practice or in her bathroom shower. She eagerly looks forward to making many more memories and memes with her best friends and traveling to procrastinate her work and go to competitions! Final year, best year!
Harry Ganz
Harry is a junior from Arlington, MA, majoring in Music and Political Science with a minor in Spanish. He is thrilled to be serving as Co-Music Director and Arranger for this coming year, as well as continuing to sing Tenor 1 on the team. Outside of Dhamakapella, Harry is involved in several musical ensembles, primarily playing the Tenor Saxophone as part of his major, but can usually be found watching reality TV on YouTube in his spare time. In the upcoming year, Harry is excited to perform, compete, and spread the joy that Dhamaka brings!
RACHEL GOPALANI
Rachel Gopalani is a third-year student from Merion Station, PA. She is majoring in Applied Mathematics with minors in Economics and Computer Science. When she’s not beatboxing for the team, she sings Alto 1 (but loves both voice parts equally, of course)! She enjoys reading, writing, listening to music, working out, cooking, playing video and card games (she dabbles). Rachel is always down for something creative (she’s been loving dot-by-dot puzzles recently), and is thrilled to serve as co-PR chair again this fall. She also loves spending time with her family and friends and cheering on Philadelphia sports teams. Rachel’s had a blast the past two seasons with her DhamakaFam, and she’s excited to spread more Dhamaka love!
NIVEDITA PISHARODY
Nivedita “Nivi” Pisharody is a third-year student from Hoffman Estates, Illinois, majoring in Nutrition and minoring in Childhood Studies and Public Health on the pre-med track. As a third-year, she’s excited to continue serving her second semester as President and singing Alto 2. When she’s not at rehearsal, you’ll find Nivi sipping an iced latte at Phoenix Coffee, volunteering at the pediatric hospital, Rainbow Babies, or baking up a storm back home. She’s so excited to continue making music and memories and traveling the country with her best friends and is excited to see what this year has in store for the team!!
KASHISH JaISwal
Kashish Jaiswal is a junior from Randolph, New Jersey, majoring in Political Science and Healthcare Management with minors in Biology and Bioethics. She absolutely loves being an Alto 2 and is so excited to be serving as a PR Co-Chair this fall! When she’s not hitting those low notes in rehearsal, you can find her studying at Algebra Tea House, searching for a matcha latte, or taking even more pictures of the sunset for her ever-growing camera roll collection. Kash is so lucky to have found her family in Dhamakapella over the past 2 years, and she can’t wait to see what this semester holds for her and her favorite people!
ISHA MATTA
Isha is a sophomore studying Nutritional Biochemistry and Metabolism major on the pre-med track, and this is her second year on Dhamakapella as an Alto 1. She's thrilled to be serving the team as this year's Choreography Director! Isha's favorite time of the day is when she's rehearsing with her team, but when she's not doing that, she's probably writing her own songs, listening to R&B and 5SOS, dancing, working out, or sleeping (she's, however, still sleep deprived). She can't wait for the upcoming season and is super excited to be making more memories with her favorite people!
ISABELLE HUFNAGEL
Isabelle Hufnagel is a sophomore from Princeton, New Jersey majoring in Finance and minoring in Economics. This will be her second year on the team, and while she is an alleged “soprano-alto-tenor,” she can’t wait to become a Soprano 1 mother to our incoming members. When she is not in the group breaking out into a British accent, randomly dancing, or jumping off the walls with the random spurts of energy she gets, you'll see her locking in at PBL, practicing her nail art, going thrifting, or finding a new craft to start! She is so excited to spend yet another year with the family that Dhamaka has become to her, and cant wait to create more love, music, and memories with them!
Vaibhav Thirumalai
Vaibhav Thirumalai is a sophomore from Bangalore, India, majoring in Biochemistry with a minor in Applied Data Science. This year, he is excited to serve as Dhamakapella’s secretary. He can be found all over campus, rarely setting foot in his own home on his never-ending quest to keep busy. He loves all kinds of food and watching TV shows. He is rearing to get back on the competition grind and make plenty of jokes and memes with Dha fam.
Swapnil Roy
Swapnil “Swap” Roy is a sophomore from Buffalo, New York majoring in Computer Science and Music. He is the team’s current treasurer and also an amazing Bass! Apart from being Dhamakapella’s #1 fanboy, he loves listening to music, hanging out with friends, and chatting about anything. He also loves gaming and finding a good bite to eat! Swap is excited to start a second successful season with Dhamaka!
